Whilst transdermal oestrogen does have certain advantages, it’s worth remembering that oral oestrogen can be just as effective in terms of symptom control and will provide heart and bone protection too.
Unless you have health related contraindications (high BMI, smoker, high blood pressure for example), oral oestrogen might be an option worth considering.
This supply issue can also be an opportunity to revaluate your HRT – as we get older, we often need less oestrogen to maintain symptom control. I’ve dropped a dose!
